Hi!

I’m Michelle Fernholz, the owner and tailoress at Minnesewta Nice

My mom taught me how to sew when I was 8 years old and it’s been a passion of mine ever since! After graduating high school in 2010, I started to think about how cool it would be to turn my hobby into a business. I had a few jobs here and there making custom clothes and various repairs, then about a year later I dove into the exciting world of formal wear and bridal sewing. The way someone’s face lights up when they put on their perfectly fitted (or custom made) dress is priceless! I absolutely love helping everyone look and feel their best no matter what they’re wearing.

Business really started to snowball after that from referrals (God is so good!) and in 2018 I officially launched Minnesewta Nice. With over a decade of experience, a majority of the work I do falls under bridal and formal wear alterations, but I like to play around in all areas of sewing - if it has fabric or thread, I’m in!

When I’m not sewing, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our daughter, helping out on my parent’s farm, playing video games, competitive baking, hiking, and basically any excuse to be outside.
